Philford Design Engineers is one of the UK's leading designers and manufacturers of bespoke industrial machinery. The company has built an enviable reputation since its inception in 1979, despite never having done a scrap of formal marketing or promotion during that time.
D4 was commissioned to help Philford, already market leaders in the mining and power generation sectors to expand into new areas and progress to new levels of success. A strong brand identity and marketing style were needed to communicate the company's quality and expertise to potential clients within new markets.
We developed a concept that played on Philford's strength as an experienced and accomplished operation, whilst simultaneously presenting the company as progressive, forward thinking and innovative.
Photography played a key part in the process. It demonstrates history, experience and exceptional workmanship, as well as new technology and a forward-looking apprenticeship programme. This idea of history meeting the future is also shown graphically with a timeline highlighting landmarks for the company. The website includes a full content-managed news section to ensure information is always up-to-date and the site maintains a fresh, dynamic feel.
D4's work has contributed to Philford gaining new business from important new markets. Members of the sales staff have expressed renewed enthusiasm and confidence in the company, and the directors are currently looking at new premises to accommodate Philfords growing workload.
